Since 2018, we have led the effort to shift the equilibrium toward a just society.

Our Mission & Culture

Impact.Ed (formerly SocEntEDU) exists to create a world that is just and equitable through setting solid foundations for social impact based on explorations of identity, opportunity, and innovation.

  • We are a pluralistic-by-design community. Membership is selective, based on demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, justice, and agency-for-all.

  • We model entrepreneurial learning in the way that we collaborate as a community of social impact educators.

  • We are committed to leaving the world a better place and empowering others to join us in that effort.

Connecting human-to-human with so many amazing people who share the same mission, but different ways of getting there is a constant inspiration.

our history

Since our initial launch, we collaborated virtually from the fall of 2018 until March of 2020, when we finally all met in person to host a small event for a diverse group of entrepreneurs and educators who believe in our mission and vision. This event, Junto 2020, was sponsored by University of Pennsylvania’s Catalyst GSE, and it marked the official launch of our organization beyond our core team. Since then we have hosted numerous happy hours, and invited over 60 diverse voices to our community to learn and grow with. Our community is growing and so is our impact - we invite you to share your voice and your impact with our community.

Our team, which spans three time zones, is committed to creating connections, convening people and contributing thought and action leadership around social impact. We envision learners using creative confidence to contribute to equitable, just, and generative systems.

HOW WE WORK

We meet virtually as a core team each week to discuss latest trends and challenges around social impact and entrepreneurship education. Our commitment remains to grow a community of diverse social impact leaders. We do this in three distinct ways:

  1. We host and convene social impact leaders through free virtual gatherings, called Community Circles.

  2. We offer Impact Circles, a low cost, high return 6-8 week program built for a small cohort of social impact educators and entrepreneurs.

  3. We host in-person and virtual events to further connect and convene our community in meaningful ways.
