We envision a world that is equitable, just, and generative. We believe that the mindsets and skillsets of social entrepreneurship are critical to achieving this vision and that a supportive community is key to growing the individuals that contribute to collective impact.

Impact Circle (January 2022)
from $100.00

We hope you will join us for our next round of Impact Circles starting in January. We are building a community of people who are looking to tip the scales of an unjust world towards equitability and opportunity. It will take all of us working in our respective lanes to make this a reality, which is why we created Impact Circles as a new form of professional development, community engagement and an effort to break down silos of like minded folks around the world. These small-by-design learning cohorts are intentionally designed to amplify the changemaker and activist in each participant. What are Impact Circles?

Impact Circles are an intentionally small, virtual, and cohort-based 6-week PD experience. The Impact.Ed team does the calendaring, agenda-setting, general organizing, 1:1 coaching, and other behind the scenes work to allow you to focus on convening, contributing, and connecting with others in a meaningful and impactful environment. We know the antidote to anxiety and frustration of challenges happening in the world is action and agency and these circles are designed intentionally with that purpose in mind. This particular Circle will hold the book Anti-Oppressive Education in “Elite” Schools at the heart of our time together.

These circles, in their most successful form, will allow you to:

  • develop relationships that last and grow your social impact network and social capital

  • experiment with new ideas and frameworks that can be applied to your personal and professional work

  • receive coaching and advice, and ultimately restore and rejuvenate around the social impact work you do in your own context.

  • contribute and co-author an upcoming Impact Paper highlighting your work around social impact education (AKA: there is an end goal of each circle and we love that you will be able to share your published work for years to come). Checkout a previously published paper here.

Dates: Jan 31st/Feb 7th/Feb 21st/Feb 28th/Mar 7th/Mar 14th @ 8pm EST/ 5pm PST/ 3pm HST

FALL EVENTS

INTERACTIVE SESSION and book launch of:

Anti-Oppressive Education in "Elite" Schools: Promising Practices and Cautionary Tales From the Field.

October 8th @ 9am HST/ 12pm PST/ 3pm EST

Join editors Katy Swalwell and Daniel Spikes, three contributing authors, and educator activists for a 90-minute workshop examining the book Anti-Oppressive Education in "Elite" Schools: Promising Practices and Cautionary Tales From the Field. Through presentations and discussion, we explore how those who are in a position of power in schools -- especially those of privilege, both public and private -- can be educated to take active steps that reduce and disrupt oppression.

For educators, school administrators, community activists, students, and parents, this session helps us move from research to action. Participants are empowered to transfer what we learn from our time together into their own contexts in order to create equitable classrooms, schools, and communities. Sessions will be facilitated using inclusive protocols to ensure maximum collaboration and learning.

OTHER WAYS TO ENGAGE WITH US

SLACK

We are now opening up Slack to those outside of our Impact Circles. If you would like an easy way to stay connected with our community, this is the place for you. We enjoy sharing resources and it’s a great place to connect with folks one on one.

Workshops & Seminars

Our team hosts 1-2 workshops per year (Junto anyone?!). These events will be virtual until further notice. Stay tuned for upcoming workshop dates!

community CIRCLES

These FREE, virtual community gatherings are hosted by one of our core team members who bring together impact leaders and educators to share space around the common goal to design a better world through social entrepreneurship. This can look like sharing new frameworks, discussions around proactive questions, or inviting a member to share one of their brewing ideas in exchange for feedback. We’ve hosted over 60 members during these Circles since 2018 and always leave feeling filled up. Make sure you join our newsletter to know when we will host our next circle.
